The International English Language Testing System (IELTS) is an English Language Test that is co-owned by the British Council and IDP. It is accepted by 10,000 universities. This test checks a students’ proficiency in the areas of reading, writing, listening and speaking. Students applying for all levels of programs – undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral are required to take a test like IELTS.
Taking a language proficiency test like the IELTS is a requirement by all universities abroad. Students will need to take the IELTS (or a test like IELTS; example: TOEFL) to get admission. This IELTS is especially popular among universities in the UK, Canada and Australia.
While the score needed in IELTS depends on the university, securing an overall band of 6.5 or more out of 9.0 will give students access to most programs. Sometimes, universities might also have section wise cut offs – so students need to be careful about this.
The goal of the IELTS is to check if students are capable of communicating with classmates and completing coursework effectively in English at the university level. Thus, the IELTS tests four skills in English: Reading, Listening, Writing and Speaking.

Every course instructor that teaches with us undergoes a multistep process for selection. Only 2% of faculty who apply are actually selected! Our teachers know how to raise scores. Yours is next!
We know that each student learns best when they interact with teachers. For this reason, we’ve kept our batch sizes small (less than 30 students). This allows the course instructor to provide personalized attention to each student.
We provide all the study material that you need to crack the IELTS. This includes the official IELTS book, classwork problem solving sheets for each section of the IELTS, and video lectures.
To help our students crack this often feared section, we arrange a one on one speaking training session with our faculty over and above regular classes. These sessions are instrumental in helping students improve their speaking skills and overcome test anxiety.
COVID-19 Advisory: Due to the prevailing COVID situation, AdmitAbroad has decided to move all upcoming batches to an online mode till further notice.
