USCIS to go online for H-1B registration

The United States Citizenship and Immigration ServiceS (USCIS) go online for filing an H-1B cap-subject petition. The ‘role’ of the person would decide the type of USCIS account. A new electronic registration process for H-1B visas for fiscal year 2021 will be in place. From 24th 2020 onwards, prospective petitioners will use a new ‘Registrant’ account and Registrants will be both, US Employers and US Agents.

The USCIS has also stated that after March 1, noon, Representatives can start entering beneficiary information, submitting registrations and pay a $10 non-refundable registration fee for each beneficiary.

The initial registration period will be open from noon Eastern time March 1 till noon Eastern time March 20, 2020. Account creation and registration will remain open throughout this window. Selections will take place randomly and USCIS Online Account will send notifications by March 31st, 2020, if enough registrations are received by March 20th, 2020.

A pilot Registration System has been successfully run and tested.
